VILIFT can be taken safely with all over-the-counter medications, supplements, herbs, and vitamins.

Vilift taken with SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors)
Including Celexa® (citalopram), Effexor® (venlafaxine), Lexapro® (escitalopram oxalate), Luvox® (fluvoxamine), Paxil® (paroxetine), Prozac® (fluoxetine), Zoloft® (sertraline)
If you are taking SSRI anti-depressants please consult a physician before taking VILIFT. Combining SSRI medications with the 5-HTP in VILIFT may increase the risk of developing serotonin syndrome. If you wish to stop taking your current SSRI medication and begin taking VILIFT, please consult your doctor about the best way to do so. Pulling out an SSRI in one shot from your system can cause painful withdrawal symptoms. The safe thing to do is to gradually reduce the SSRI dose over many weeks.
